Officers responded to a call about man with a gun on Lombardy Drive on April 20. Officers met with a woman, who said another woman pointed a gun at her and made threats. Hall said the alleged gun pointer was upset about trash being scattered in her yard. Later officers made contact with the alleged gun pointer and were unable to locate a firearm. She denied pointing a gun at the woman who called.

On April 21, a man reported that he was assaulted and robbed by 5 to 6 men at Clayton and Hull streets. Two women who were with him were also assaulted. Officers searched the downtown area and located 2 suspects who matched the description. These suspects were later picked out of a lineup by the victims. The investigation is ongoing.

A College Circle home was burglarized between 11:15pm on April 19 and 8am on April 20. The neighbor noticed that the front door had been damage and called police. Contact was made with the homeowner who advised police that 2 TVs and a laptop were missing.

On April 20 at 11;30pm officers responded to a theft in progress at Sears. A male subject was taking tires out of a cargo truck in the parking lot. Officers made contact with the suspect James Dutton of Hartwell Ga. Dutton said that he had permission to take the tires and that the automotive manager at Sears gave him permission. Management at Sears said that Dutton did not have permission to take the tires and at this time Dutton was placed under arrest. Dutton took approximately 15 tires valued at $100 each.

On April 21 at 2:57am officers on foot patrol in Broad Acres spoke with one man and another named Ricky Whitehead. Neither lives in Broad Acres and when asked what they were doing, they responded they were going to visit a friend, Officers asked Whitehead to pull up his shirt and when Whitehead complied officers saw a handgun in Whitehead’s waistband. Whitehead was placed under arrest for carrying a concealed weapon and also charged with loitering.
