Information in this story comes from the Athens-Clarke County police department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

At around 9:40 p.m. on Monday, members of the Drug Task Force assisted the Georgia State Patrol with a traffic stop at Old Jefferson Road and Camak Drive.  The state trooper discovered Rene Tyrone Harper, 25, of Sandy Springs Road, was in possession of a large quantity of marijuana.  Also seized during the stop were cash and digital scales.  Harper was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Between 7:30 a.m. And 7 p.m. On Dec. 5, a woman reported that someone broke into her Commerce Road residence.  A game system, jewelry, keyboard, and coins were stolen.  The total value was $1,800. 

Between 12 p.m. on Nov. 16 and 12 p.m. Nov. 21, a woman told police someone stole a ring valued at $1,500 while she was in the process of moving from her former residence to her current residence.  The theft was reported on December 5.
