Crime Blotter--Drug Bust and an alleged child rape

Members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 125 Deupree Court.  A quantity of crack cocaine and marijuana as well as a handgun, cash, a vehicle, digital scales, and associated paraphernalia commonly associated with the manufacture and distribution of crack cocaine were seized. Jarvis Clarke, 34, was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.

A legless man has been charged with raping an 11-year-old girl, the daughter of the woman he was living with, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald. Elbert Roman Tate, 33, faces numerous changes, including rape, child molestation, aggravated sexual battery and sexual battery.
