Crime Blotter--Drug-related Arrest and Other Crimes in Athens, Ga.

Members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 1155 Towne Square Laen on January 28. A quantity of cocaine and Lortab were seized. A stolen handgun was also recovered. Maurice Allen, 31, First St, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of Certain Crimes, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule III/IV/V Substance.

An attempt was made to enter a Boulder Trail residence between 1pm and 4:15pm on January 28.

Between 8am on January 25 and 1pm on January 27 a garage at a vacant Hull Rd residence owned by a man from Tanglewood Court was burglarized. Electric ballasts valued at $2,000 were stolen.

A man reported that his Fern Ridge Court residence was burglarized between 6pm on January 25 and 11am on January 28. A video game console valued at $300 was stolen. A possible suspect was named. 

A Sunny Hills Drive residence was burglarized between 8:30am and 3:50pm on January 28. Jewelry, paper memorabilia, and a wooden box were stolen. The total value was $65. 

A TV and laptop, valued at $1,400, were stolen from a Westchester Drive residence in a burglary which occurred between 5:15pm and 6:45pm on January 28.  

A man reported that a TV valued at $200 was stolen from his Wellington Court residence in a burglary which occurred between 6pm and 8pm on January 28.

Between 8am on January 26 and 2am on January 29 various bottles of liquor valued at $2,177 were stolen from the Boar’s Head Lounge, 260 East Washington Street.

A Watkinsville man reported that his vehicle was entered between 9:45pm and 9:50pm on January 26 while it was parked on Ashley Circle. An airless paint sprayer, spray gun, and floor jack were stolen. The total value was $1,500. This was reported January 28.
