Crime Blotter--drugs, an accident, theft

Members of the Drug Task Force executed two search warrants on February 27.  One was at 130 Fern Ridge Court. A quantity of marijuana was seized. Lawrence Anderson, 23, and Michale Whorton, 24, were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.  The second warrant was executed at 159 Strickland Avenue. A quantity of marijuana and Adderall as well as a handgun, digital scales, and cash were seized.  Charges are pending on a subject for possession of the marijuana and the firearm.

A Pine Ridge resident, driving a 2001 Honda Prelude, was east bound on Epps Bridge Parkway.  Perry Ah, of Crystal Court, driving a 1985 Mercedes Benz, was west bound.  As he attempted a left turn to travel south on Timothy Rd, Ah turned in front of the Honda, causing the cars to collide. The Honda driver was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center.  Ah was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way/Turning Left.  This accident occurred around 8:15am on  February 27.

Between 2pm on February 14 and 10:45am on  February 27, a Stonehenge Place residence was burglarized.  Nothing was found to be missing. 

A man reported that his vehicle was entered between 4pm on February 26 and 11:10am on  February 27 while it was parked at his Martin Luther King, Jr., Pkwy, residence.  A laptop, radar detector, book, and book bag were stolen.  The total value was $3,400.

 A window air conditioner unit and an outside air conditioner unit were stolen from a vacant Howard Drive residence between 9am on February 25 and 10am on  February 27.  The total value was $1,300.
