Crime Blotter--Drugs and Stealing

Phyllis Reed of Reed St was charged with Aggravated Assault on Jan. 11.Officers responded to the Lombardy Drive residence of a man. On arrival officers found the man bleeding from an apparent cutting type injury on his face. Reed said that she and the man had “scuffled” but she did not know how the man had gotten injured. Reed later told officers that the man may have fallen and hurt himself. The man’s brother said that his brother was trying to put Reed out of the house when he heard his brother and Reed arguing. Later the man’s brother said his brother yelled she “stabbed me!” this investigation is still active. The man’s injuries were not listed as life threatening.

A woman reported her hotel room at 295 East Dougherty Street, The Foundry Inn, was burglarized. The burglary occurred on December 9, 2012. The woman said her laptop, pocketbook, checkbook, drivers license and debit card were taken. There was no forced entry. The total value on items taken was $2,500.

On Jan. 11 around 10pm officers responded to a suspicious person call on Woody Lane near 215 Seagraves Drive. Officers observed Vantrec Ballard of Jockey Club Drive in the area. Ballard fit the description of the suspicious individual and officers called for him to stop. Ballard ran and officers caught him in a dumpster near Seagraves Drive after a foot pursuit. Officers found that 2 burglaries had occurred at 215 and 217 Seagraves Drive. Both locations had the rear door kicked in. The refrigerator and stove had been removed from 215 Seagraves and were left on the back deck. Ballard was charged with 2 counts of burglary, obstruction and criminal trespass.

A man said his Mark Twain residence was burglarized between 10:30am and 1pm on Jan. 11. A rear door was forced to gain entry. Items taken include an Itouch, Ipad and a laptop. The items are valued at $1080.

A woman who lives on East Paces reported her home was burglarized on Jan. 11  around 2:22pm. Entry was made by forcing the rear door; suspects stole a 32” TV valued at $200.

Luis Becerra-Garcia advised his Kathwood Apartment was burglarized between 0740 and 1530 on 1/11/13. Becerra-Garcia said a Flat screen TV and HP printer were taken and he valued the items at over $200. 01-0682

 

Theft

A Moreland Drive man reported that his 1999 Dodge Durango was stolen from his residence on 1/9/13 between 2200 and 2230. He did not name a suspect.  

Around 10pm on January 10 officers were patrolling the 500 block of Vine St. As they pulled in the parking lot of an apartment building, they saw a female standing in the shadows. When she saw the patrol car, she quickly walked away. The officers lost sight of her so they parked on Gressom St and watched the parking lot. A few minutes later they saw the same female walk across the parking lot and they made contact with her. She was stopped and identified. It was confirmed she had been barred from the property. Her name was Andrea Rhone and she was arrested. During a search of her purse the officers found two plastic baggies. One contained a green leafy substance and the other contained a rock of suspected crack cocaine and a lot of residue. Rhone, 29, Reed Ct, was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Criminal Trespass.
