Crime Blotter--Drugs and Theft

A 29-year-old man reported that his Arch Street residence was entered through a kicked-in rear door. A Glock handgun and a Sony Play Station III were stolen from inside the residence.

A neighbor witnessed two subjects in the rear of a Loblolly Drive residence that belongs to Kelly Realty. After hearing a loud noise, he yelled at the two subjects and they ran to a 1990’s model Honda Accord and left the scene. The subjects had used a large rock to break out a rear window, but had not made entry into the building. They were described as black females, one heavy-set with short hair, the other wearing a red shirt and jeans. There were two other subjects in the car with the suspects.

A 27-year-old woman reported that her Sayemore Drive residence was entered through a pried-open rear door. A computer tower and monitor were taken from a storage closet.

A 24-year-old man reported that his Fern Ridge Drive residence was entered through a pried-open front door. Two TV’s, an X-Box 360 Game System, several video games and loose change were stolen from the residence.

A woman reported that her East Carver Drive residence was entered by someone pushing an air conditioning unit from a window. Two pairs of shoes were reported stolen from inside the residence. 

A neighbor noticed the rear door of a Waddell Street residence was open, and called ACCPD. The rear door had been pried open. A Sony Play Station III, laptop computer and cash were reported stolen.

At 1:00 am, May 12, an officer made contact with a young male pushing a four-wheeler up the hill on North Avenue. When the officer made contact, the subject asked if the officer could help him push the four-wheeler up the hill. After the subject’s story was checked out by the officer, it was determined that the four-wheeler, a 2005, dark green 2005 Kawasaki KLF250A, had been taken from a fenced-in area behind the United States Federal Building at 355 East Hancock Ave. An employee of the Federal Building responded to the scene and positively identified the four-wheeler as being government property. A 13 year-old boy was charged with the theft, Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime and Curfew Violation. The Department of Juvenile Justice decided not to detain the suspect, and he was released to his mother’s custody. The four-wheeler was returned to the government employee.

Members of the Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a residence on Civitan Club Drive. Recovered during the search were a High Point 9mm handgun, which had been reported stolen in another county, a quantity of marijuana, a large sum of cash and materials used in the packaging of marijuana for sale. Darin Oh, 20, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana With The Intent To Distribute, Possession of a Firearm During The Commission of A Crime and Theft By Receiving Stolen Property.

An ACCPD officer on bike patrol on North Lumpkin Street near Strong Street observed two men walking north on Lumpkin Street towards downtown. When the two men saw the officer, one of them reached into his pocket and threw an item into the grass. The officer retrieved the item which was a small plastic bag containing a white powder. After the contents of the bag tested positive for cocaine, Demetrice Antoine Riden, 29, Honeysuckle Lane, Athens, was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine.

During the evening of May 10 members of the Drug Task Force, along with Downtown Operations and University of Georgia Police Department officers, conducted an undercover operation that targeted persons arranging drug sales in the downtown area. Arrested during this operation were:

James McDonald, Cone Drive - Criminal Attempt to Sell Marijuana

Oscar Maxwell, Johnson Drive - Sale of Imitation Controlled Substance (Flex)

Sylvester Antonio Terrell, Sunny Hills Drive - Sale of Imitation Controlled  Substance ( Flex)

Darrly Vincent Beauford, Hawthorne Avenue - Criminal Attempt to Sell Marijuana

 

Around 3:50pm on May 10 officers responded to an Eastwood Court residence to a complaint of a subject inside without permission who was stealing food.  The officer found an ID card and cell phone that belonged to the suspect Corey MacKenzie Pattman. While the officer was talking with the complaintent, the suspect, Pattman, arrived.  After talking with Pattman he was arrested.  Pattman, 29, Reed St, was charged with Burglary. 

A Ruth Street residence was burglarized between 9am and 4pm on May 10.  A TV, lap tops, blu rap disc, microphone, video game system, e reader, digital file converter, and video games.  The total value was $4,125. 

Members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 250 Cooper Road on May 9. A quantity of Lortab and crack cocaine as well as digital scales and packaging paraphernalia were seized.  This investigation was in response to community complaints of drug activity at this residence.  Darryl Gresham, 49, was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Schedule III Drug with Intent to Distribute.

A man reported his Macon Highway residence burglarized between 5pm on April 23 and 3pm on  May 9.  A TV and DVD player with a total value of $350 were stolen.  

Between midnight May 4 and 11:15am on May 9 air conditioner units valued at $2,100 were stolen from SKAPS, 330 Athena Drive.
