Crime Blotter--DUI-related accidents and a home invasion

A Nicholson woman, driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, was north bound on Bob Holman Road around 6:30pm on February 14.  Kyle Edward Grayson, driving a 1994 Dodge Intrepid, had stopped at the stop sign on Rocky Drive.  As Grayson entered Bob Holman Road, his vehicle struck the Cavalier on the front passenger side, knocking it into a ditch.  A passenger in the Cavalier, who lives on Bob Holman Road, was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center.  Grayson was arrested and charged with DUI and Failure to Yield Right of Way/Stop Sign.

Around 2:45am on February 15, a 20-year-old male UGA student from Decatur was riding a bicycle south on Milledge Avenue. Near the Springdale Street intersection, the cyclist was struck from behind by a 1998 GMC 1500 driven by Thomas Watts, 21, a UGA student who lives on Macon Highway. The cyclist was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center. Watts was arrested and charged with DUI and Serious Injury by Vehicle.  

 Officers responded to a home invasion/armed robbery at a Sycamore Drive residence around 11:20pm on February 14.  One man, a resident of Sussex Drive, and a Conyers man said a white male and a black male came in through an unlocked back door and ordered them to the floor. The black male, who was armed with a handgun, went into a bedroom and brought a third occupant, another Conyers man, out to the living room. The suspects took cell phones, cash, a game system, games, a computer, a laptop, and a net book. Items were also removed from another bedroom. The total value of items stolen was $2,732.  The suspects exited the residence and fled on foot. They were described as 17 to 20 years old, around 5’8”, 150 to 160 pounds.  They wore gloves and hoodies so only their eyes were visible.
