A man from Orlando, Fla., was arrested early Saturday morning on Clayton Street when police investigated a report that someone was tearing up landscape bushes, according to an report.

Police found Aaron Vohlers, 22, at about 2:30 a.m. lying on his back in landscape bushes and dirt in "an intoxicated condition with pieces of shrub all over the sidewalk and road." Another person with him helped Vohlers to his feet when he saw police coming.

After checking Vohlers ID, Vohlers said that he had "a little" to drink. When police asked him why he was tearing up bushes, he said that he was not. Vohlers also said although he had not destroyed the bushes, "some were broken by his merely laying on them in the landscape area."

Vohlers was arrested and charged with public intoxication. While Vohlers sat on the sidewalk and waited for transport to Clarke-County Jail, the officer reported that he "spontaneously said, 'I am drunk, legally!'" Afterwards, he was taken away by arriving officers.
