Crime Blotter--Man Shot and Killed in Athens, Ga.

Officers responded to a complaint of gunshots on Pinehurst Court, off Tallassee Road, around 3am on  April 4. Upon arrival, they found the body of a male, later identified as 23-year old Travis Sankwon Callaway of Athens, on the ground at the edge of a breezeway. Investigation revealed he died from a gunshot wound.  A possible suspect was taken into custody and, after questioning, released. No charges were filed at this time. On April 2 a series of enforcement checks were conducted by the Alcohol Compliance Unit. John Joseph Roberson at , 3640 Atlanta Hwy, was cited for Selling Alcohol to Under 21.

, 4005 Danielsville Rd, was burglarized between 11:30pm on April 2 and 9:30am on April 3. Cash and computer equipment valued at $4,600 were stolen. Several small fires were started in a storage room which damaged merchandise valued at $3,000. There was no damage to the building.  

A man said he arrived at his Brookwood Drive residence around 12:10pm on April 3 and saw the carport door kicked in. He entered the residence and saw two teenaged black males wearing white t-shirts and blue jeans.  When they saw him they ran and jumped out a window and fled on foot. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

A Roberts Road residence was burglarized between 9am and 1:30pm on April 4.  A lap top, TV, checks, and gold coins were stolen.  The total value was $1,441. 

A woman reported her Maison Drive residence was burglarized between 7pm and 10:45pm on April 3.  A TV and video game system valued at $1,300 were stolen. 

Between 10am on March 27 and 10am on March 28, an air conditioner unit valued at $3,000 was stolen from , 259 East Clayton Street. This was reported on April 3.
