Crime Blotter: Stolen Guitar Recovered

ACCPD responded to the Musician’s Warehouse on Crane Drive after employees reported that two subjects had been in the business attempting to sell a stolen guitar. The guitar had been stolen in a previous burglary, and the victim had provided them with a description of the guitar in case anyone did try and sell it there. Clinton Vondell Jackson, 20, Moreland Avenue, Athens and James Lattimer McQueen, 44, Little Street, Athens, were arrested and charged with Theft By Receiving Stolen Property after they attempted to sell the Gibson Les Paul guitar, valued at $3,000.00. The original victim was contacted and the guitar was returned to the owner. 

A 30-year-old woman on Nunnally Street reported that she was in the process of moving from her Hollow Ridge Drive residence when it was entered through a door to an attached garage. Four low-profile tires and rims, a washer and dryer, and an air conditioning unit were stolen.

A man on Ashton Drive reported his unlocked pickup truck was entered and a laptop computer and a credit card were stolen. 

A 67-year-old man from Briarcliff Road in Athens was eastbound on West Broad Street on a bicycle. He had stopped/slowed in preparation of turning into Camelia Drive when he was struck from behind by an eastbound vehicle. A 22-year-old woman from Bogart was eastbound on West Broad Street in the left hand thru-lane, operating a 2004 Kia Optima when she struck the man on the bicycle. The driver stated she never saw the bicyclist until impact. The cyclist was transported to ARMC by ambulance for treatment of injuries sustained. No charges have been made pending further investigation.

A woman from  Creek Hollow Way, Athens, was northbound on Chase Street, operating a 2000 Ford Taurus. She had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with West Broad Street. A man from Epps Bridge Parkway, Athens, was traveling westbound on West Broad Street, operating a 2008 Pontiac G6. After stopping, the driver of the Taurus proceeded to pull into West Broad Street and into the path of the Pontiac and was struck broadside. The driver of the Taurus and a 17-year old passenger in her vehicle were transported to ARMC by ambulance for treatment of injuries

A man reported that his Winding Brook Trail  residence was burglarized between 7:45am and 11:20am on  April 12. Video game systems, TVs, headphones, shoes, and cash were stolen. The total value was $2,910. 

 Between 8:30pm and 9pm on April 3 a handgun valued at $450 was stolen from an eastside residence. A suspect was named.  This was reported on April 12.
