Crime Blotter--Theft and Burglary

Between 8:15pm and 8:30pm on December 24th a vehicle was entered while it was at the Golden Pantry, 115 North Ave. A person known to the car owner removed a handgun from the vehicle and pointed it at the owner when he confronted the thief about the theft. The handgun is valued at $400.00.

A burglary was reported at Fowler Drive Elementary school. Between 12 noon on Dec. 24 and 9am on Dec. 25, someone broke out a rear window with a large rock and entered the school. Several cash drawers in the cafeteria had been moved but nothing was known to have been taken.

Between 4pm and 4:10pm  on Dec. 24th a Fairview Street residence was burglarized. A computer, X-Box and television were taken. The property was valued at $1,300. A witness saw two high school age black men running from the location, carrying a television. They entered a black SUV and exited the area.

At 7am the front glass door to Southern Video was found shattered. The address is 660 West Broad Street and a brick was found inside the location. Nothing is known to be missing at this time.

On December 22, officers responded to a burglar alarm at a Nowhere Road residence. Upon arrival, officers located a black man inside. The man was not able to unlock any doors and had to crawl out a window. The victim did not know the man. Andrew Lumpkin was charged with burglary.

On December 22, officers responded to a Kathwood Drive residence in reference to a burglary. Huato said that when she arrived home she saw two Hispanic males running from her apartment.  Cash and jewelry were missing.

On December 22, officers responded to a Skyline Drive residence in reference to an entering auto. The resident said someone entered both her vehicle and her husband's vehicle. Personal property and cash were taken.
