The Crime Log is a wrap-up of this week's police reports.

Hide your kids, hide your bikes – thieves in Athens are at it again, snatching two Kawasaki motorcycles this week. Residents should also be fearful of mysterious falling bullets and higher-end cars from the mid-1990's careening into utility poles. Stay safe, Athens.

Reports from Thursday – March 31, 2011

-Just after 4 a.m. Wednesday morning, Mabry Drive resident Lawrence Joseph Choskey was charged with a DUI and failure to maintain lane after his 1995 Lexus ES300 struck a utility pole and flipped onto its roof on Milledge Avenue. Choskey was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center.

-At 6:05 a.m. Thursday, 42-year-old Matthew Parham of Colbert was driving along Boley Drive (yes, the same street where was found) in a 1994 Cadillac de Ville when the vehicle hit an embankment and went airborne, striking a utility pole. Parham was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to in critical condition. The passenger, 26-year-old Kayla Jordan, was wearing a seatbelt and said she had an arm injury before being treated on the scene and released. Because the investigation wasn't complete as of Thursday, no charges had been filed.

-$3,600 worth of televisions were stolen sometime between being packed at the and arriving in Orlando, Fla. The televisions were reported by a representative for ANIMOTO in New York City and were in Athens for an expo.

-Watkinsville resident Robert Tweedy, 37, was charged with a DUI and driving under a suspended license after police received two calls reporting a driver who seemed to be driving recklessly. Witnesses said Tweedy stumbled from a North Athens McDonalds. When police made contact with Tweedy at the then-closed Tartar House just north of , the car was parked crookedly and the keys were not in the ignition. According to the police report, passenger Ashley Thompson of Charleston, S.C. “claimed a mysterious 'woman' had been driving.” Tweedy declined to take tests to determine if he could drive safely and was transported to the

Reports from Friday – April 1, 2011

-There were no significant incidents to report. This isn't an April Fool's Day joke.

Reports from Monday – April 4, 2011

- Police believe a bullet fired into the air “from a good distance away” is the reason a Monday evening cookout was interrupted by a sound which witnesses described as similar to a large picture frame crashing to the floor. The .44 or .45 caliber bullet caused damage to the bathroom of the Sartain Drive residence. No one was harmed in the incident.

-Sometime between March 28 and April 3, exercise items valued at $850 were reported stolen from a storage shed at the Whitehall Road residence of Ruth Perry.

-A black 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen sometime between 10:30 Saturday night and 8:00 Sunday morning from the residence of Robert Parr.

-There were no significant incidents to report.

Reports from Wednesday – April 6, 2011

-For the second time in three days, a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen in Athens. The motorcycle, which had been stored in a fenced-in area and secured by a master lock, was taken between noon and 4 p.m. Tuesday
