Cyclist Struck on King Avenue, Burglary at Dollar General, Man Shot in Eye with Paintball Gun

ACCIDENT WITH INJURY

Around 0430 February 14 Holly Lambert, 33, was riding a bicycle north bound on King Ave. Near the Hart Ave intersection, she was struck by a Nissan Altima driven by John Weakley, 54. Lambert was transported to a local hospital. Due to conflicting statements, the circumstances of the crash are not clear at this time. The investigation continues.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Officers responded to an assault at a Walton Creek Rd residence around 2000 February 13. Contact was made with Arthur Dallas Spurlock who had an injury to his eye. The officer began to render first aid as he talked with the residents. Investigation determined Spurlock and a person known were arguing. The suspect shot Spurlock in the eye with a paint ball gun. EMS responded and transported Spurlock to Athens Regional Medical Center. The suspect left before officers arrived. The investigation continues.

BATTERY 

William Matthews of Pulaski St said he was at City Bar, 220 College Ave, around 0010 February 14. He said a fight broke out and he was helping staff remove someone from the bar. Matthews said he was pushed by a white male. He slipped on the ice and fell down. No further description was given of the suspect. A witness said the staff escorted the victim out, an argument ensued, and they dumped him on his face. EMS responded and transported him to a local hospital for treatment of facial injuries. 

BURGLARY 

Officers responded to a burglary at DOLLAR GENERAL, 4640 Atlanta Hwy, around 0840 February 13. They found the front door glass had been broken out. Nothing is known missing at this time.

Between 1500 February 11 and 1200 February 13, All-Kleen, 555 Newton Br Rd, was burglarized. Cash, snacks, drinks, and keys were stolen. The total value was $915.
