Dacula Woman Victim of Theft in Athens

Man arrested later with missing Pathfinder.

A Dacula woman was the victim of an attempted theft of her vehicle and other belongings early Tuesday morning in Athens.

Athens-Clarke County Police said the incident happened while she and the suspect were spending the night at an Athens motel.

According to police, Gregory Lane Borgula, 47, of Cumming, is accused of stealing Lesley Selena’s 2006 Pathfinder, cell phone, cash and debit cards during the overnight of Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The woman told police she discovered the missing items around 1 a.m.

Police located Borgula and the missing vehicle around 4 a.m. at a gas station on Atlanta Highway.

Borgula was charged with theft of financial transaction card, theft by taking, and theft of the vehicle.
