The Athens Clarke County Police Department Traffic unit is investigating a serious injury accident involving a Federal Express tractor trailer and a pedestrian.

The accident occurred in the 4100 block of Atlanta Highway, near Cleveland Road, around 10pm on December 27th.

A pedestrian was walking on or near the fog line in the west bound lane of Atlanta Highway. Several witnesses reported seeing the pedestrian and stated they had to change lanes to avoid hitting him.
