Girlfriend Allegedly Stabs Cheating Boyfriend

The man initially told authorities he had fallen on a piece of glass.

Athens Clarke County Police heard that the woman had been angry with her boyfriend because he had cheated on her. So when he asked her to get up and take him to work, Randi Marie Houser, 30, hopped out of bed and told the boyfriend he could call another one of his women. And then, police say, she stabbed her 30-year-old boyfriend.

According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, police learned of the stabbing from officials at Athens Regional. After stabbing him, Houser had taken the boyfriend to the hospital, and doctors there knew there was something fishy about how he said he had gotten his wound. Someone called the police and said that a possible assault victim had come in.

The boyfriend had said he had fallen on a piece of glass, the story says. A doctor told the boyfriend he had suffered internal injuries, something that wouldn't have occurred if he really had been cut by falling on glass. At that point, the story says, the boyfriend admitted that his girlfriend had stabbed him.

Houser has been charged with aggravated assault. The incident happened during the night of January 9th, Thursday.
