Good Samaritan Becomes Target of Assailant

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

At 10:39pm on July 4th, a 23-year-old woman was leaving her Epps Bridge Parkway apartment complex in her car, turning onto Epps Bridge Parkway, when she was flagged down by a young man waving his arms frantically.

She stopped, and the man said he was in trouble and needed to use her cell phone. She handed him the phone through the window. When finished the call, he got into the victim’s car.

When she tried to call for help, the man started hitting her. She eventually was able to get out of the car.

When police arrived, they found the woman visibly shaken, but not seriously harmed. The man was still on scene and was eventually identified by officers as Hunter Cole Dalton, 22, of East Campus Road.

Dalton was arrested and charged with Robbery by Force, Aggravated Assault, Simple Battery, Entering Auto and False Imprisonment. During a search, incidental to his arrest, he was also found to be in possession of a plastic baggie containing mushrooms, and was consequently charged with Possession of a Schedule I Drug.
