Man Allegedly Stalks, Threatens Ex-Girlfriend, Shoots At Her Mother's Car

If you point a gun at someone, prepare to be arrested.

John Campbell, a 47-year-old Statham man, allegedly told his ex-girlfriend: "If I can't have you, nobody can," while he pointed a gun at her.

Later, he is alleged to have shot at a car being driven by the 69-year-old mother of the ex-girlfriend, shattering some windows. This event happened on Timothy Road near Tilson Drive.

According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, Campbell was arrested Friday in Athens, where the ex-girlfriend lives, and was charged with stalking and aggravated assault for threatening the woman. Police are also investigating whether he actually was the person who shot at the older woman's car.
