Man Attacks Mother and Son with Pitchfork in Athens, Ga.

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

At 9:55pm on March 15, ACCPD officers responded to a Spring Valley Road address regarding a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers were told by a female victim that a man had come to her residence looking for her son.

When the woman informed her son of this, he came outside. The subject then confronted the son about money that was owed to him, and when the son informed him that he did not have any money for him, the other man grabbed a pitchfork from nearby and threatened both the son and his mother.

They were able to get inside and lock the door, but the subject then threw the pitchfork at the mother’s vehicle, breaking the windshield. Shortly after that, a large piece of asphalt was thrown through a window, with a piece of it striking the son in the head.

The subject, known only to the son as “T.Y.”, then left in a dark-colored vehicle. The son was later transported by EMS for treatment of a possible concussion.
