Man Bites Man; Accident and DUI; AC Unit Removed in Attempted Burglary

Incidents reported by Athens-Clarke County Police, June 26

ARREST

Around 1:15 a.m. June 26 officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a Baxter Street residence. Upon arrival, they found Donovan White and Xerez White standing outside the door. Investigation revealed D White and Michael Parrish were arguing and then started fighting. X White said he tried to break them up and Parrish shoved him. During the fight, D White was bitten by Parrish. Parrish sustained injuries to his head, face, and mouth. EMS responded and transported him to St. Mary’s Hospital. After treatment, Parrish, 23, Hart Avenue, was arrested and charged with Battery and Simple Battery.

ACCIDENT

Scott Thurmon Anglin of Eaglewood Ct, driving a 2007 Ford F150, was west bound on Westlake Dr. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Anglin said he over corrected in a curve and lost control of the vehicle. He was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center. After treatment, he was arrested and charged with Failure to Maintain Lane/Improper Driving on a Roadway, Duty to Report an Accident w/Injury, and DUI. This accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. June 25.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

A window unit air conditioner was removed from a window at the former Paul Brown Motors, 420 Hawthorne Ave. Nothing is known missing at this time.

BURGLARY

Between 8 p.m. June 25 and 7 a.m. June 26, a Rolling Ridge Drive was burglarized. Wallets containing $200 were taken. A suspect was named.
