Around 10:20pm on May 1 probation officers had a subject run from them on Cone Drive.

ACCPD officers responded to assist but when they arrived the subject, Albert Collins, Jr., was already in custody. Investigation revealed when the probation officers arrived at the residence, they saw Collins walk behind a pick-up truck in the driveway. He appeared to be trying to hide something in the bed.

When the officers approached him, one saw a small plastic baggie hanging out of his pants pocket. A pat down of Collins revealed a large sum of money, several plastic baggies, and a syringe. The officer then found several small plastic baggies of a white substance, which appeared to be cocaine, in the bed of the truck.

When the other officer reached to handcuff Collins, he fled on foot. After a brief chase, officers apprehended Collins. A field test of the substance was positive for cocaine.
