Man Struck in Face with Rock; Would-Be Burglar Flees; Guns, TVs and Shoes Stolen

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
Around 10:40 p.m. June 26 officers responded to a possible fight at North Ave and Willow St. Upon arrival, contact was made with Clarence Parks, Jr., who was bleeding from a cut on his face. Parks said he was sitting on the edge of the concrete when a person known struck him in the face with a rock. EMS responded and transported him to Athens Regional Medical Center.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY
Around 5:55 a.m. June 27 officers responded an attempted burglary at a Danielsville Rd residence. The resident said she saw a black male attempting to pry open a window. He was described as around 5’6”, 160 to 175 pounds, wearing a white New York hat, black shirt, and baggy jeans. She said when she looked through the blinds, the suspect possibly saw her and fled on foot into the wood line. Officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him.
BURGLARY
A Fourth St residence was burglarized between 10:50 a.m. June 25 and 9:40 a.m. June 26. A TV, video game system, video games, and a handgun were stolen. The total value was $1,320.
Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. June 26 a Sunny Hills Dr residence was burglarized. A TV and cash with a total value of $1,892 were stolen.
A man reported a handgun valued at $400 stolen from his Riverhill Dr residence between 11:55 p.m. June 24 and 4 p.m. June 26. A suspect was named.
A Magnolia St residence was burglarized between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. June 26. Shoes valued at $150 were stolen. A suspect was named.
