Man Told ex-Girlfriend He Loved Her, then Killed her Brother and Stabbed Her, Police Say

Documents filed in Clarke County Superior Court recount what happened with Temon Jarmell Williams and twins Shawn and Shawntay Doughty.

Athens Clarke County Police say on that Temon Williams drove twins Shawn and Shawntay Doughty from Shawntay's home in Washington, Ga., to Williams' Athens apartment to collect her belongings.

As they drove along, Williams told Shawntay how much he loved her, according to documents filed in Clarke County Superior Court. The two had once lived together. A story in the Athens Banner Herald says that while Shawntay was in the Woody Lane apartment, gathering her things, she saw Williams running toward the front door and saw her brother on the ground, bloody, and heard him calling her.

The story says that Williams then began attacking, stabbing and choking Shawntay, stopping only when a neighbor intervened. Williams then stabbed himself repeatedly in an apparent suicide attempt, according to the story.

Williams was indicted for malice and felony murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife in the commission of a crime, the story says.
