Mistaken Gender Identity Quells Long Distance Relationship, Leads to Mischief

A Texan named Brenda had an 8-month, long-distance relationship with an 44-year-old Oconee County man. As things turned out, Brenda is really a man named Oscar, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald.

When the Oconee County man discovered she was a he, he cut off contact with Oscar, who is in Eagle Pass, Texas. So Oscar started calling the Oconee County Sheriff's Department, the story says, and reporting, falsely, various criminal activities.

The sheriff said the repeated calls had created a slight problem for his employees, but "we have a good idea on how to handle the next one," the story says.
