Monroe Woman Reports an Attempted Rape

The information in this story comes from the Athens Clarke County Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

A 22-year old woman from Monroe, Georgia, told police that she had been downtown with friends at a bar when she was approached by a Hispanic man.

They talked briefly. When she went outside to smoke, the man followed her. She then went across the street to a bar/restaurant on Jackson Street and went into the restroom.

The man followed her again. He forced his way into the stall where the victim was, punched her in the face, grabbed her by the arm, and attempted to remove her clothing.
