National Night Out Set for Saturday

From an Athens Clarke County Police press release: 

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department and Target are sponsoring a National Night Out on Saturday, August 3, in the parking lot of Target at 3065 Atlanta Highway from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

National Night Out is a nationwide program designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
 
Activities will include the ACCPD Crime Prevention Unit, ACCPD Traffic officers conducting car child seat safety checks, The University of Georgia Bomb and K9 Units, ACC Fire Department, Project Safe, food, face painting, balloon ministry, and safety resources for the entire family.
