Open Beer + White Powder + Digital Scales = Arrest for Athens Man

Tony Bernard Jackson, 38, of Athens was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, DUI, and an open container in a motor vehicle.
Police were alerted to a suspicious man wearing dark clothing carrying a weapon on at the intersection of Upland Court and West Paces Drive. This was at 11:40pm on July 7.

Police identified the suspicious man as Tony Bernard Jackson. Police asked Jackson where he was coming from. During questioning, officers noticed a heavy stench of alcohol and an open beer container in the front seat. Police asked Jackson to submit to a sobriety test. Jackson refused but consented to a breathalyzer, after demanding speaking to his girlfriend.Β
After searching Jackson's car, police discovered five bags of a white powdery substance, later identified as cocaine, and a small digital scale. Jackson was arrested.
