AGGRAVATED ASSAULT / ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY
Around 10:14 pm March 16 officers responded to a complaint of a possible shooting that had just occurred in the 300 block of E Paces Dr. A caller advised there was possibly an individual who had been shot and was lying in the street. Callers advised a vehicle left the area and several subjects ran through the wood line to Spring Lake Ct. When officers arrived, they found boots, a partially eaten sandwich, and a shell casing in the roadway. Witnesses advised they saw two black males pointing guns at a black male who was in a white, 4-door sedan, possibly a late 1990’s Honda. The armed men were shouting at the male “to give it up.” As these males fled toward the woods, they fired at the vehicle as it left in the other direction. The males were described only as skinny to average build. A small bag containing a green leafy substance was found near the sandwich. The substance field-tested positive for marijuana. As of this writing neither the victim nor suspects have been identified. The investigation continues.
BURGLARY
Between 5 am and 7:20 am March 16 a vacant commercial space at 3190 Atlanta Hwy and managed by Coldwell Banker Upchurch Realty, 2405 W Broad St, was burglarized. Ceiling panels had been moved and wires had been cut. It is unknown at this time if anything is missing.
THEFT BY TAKING

When she came out, the vehicle had been stolen. It is white, with Georgia tag PCJ1022, and is valued at $2,000. The owner is Bobby Eugene Smythe of Colbert.
