Pet Zone Employees Discover Meth Makings

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

At 1:00pm on July 20, Athens Clarke County Police officers responded to a call from the Pet Zone Dog Rescue, located at 4530 Atlanta Highway.

Pet Zone employees had discovered precursor materials in their back storage room used for the manufacture of methamphetamine.

The Athens-Clarke County Fire Department and members of the Athens-Clarke County Drug Task Force responded to remove the materials from the building.

Employees at that location believe a recently terminated employee may be responsible for the materials.
