Police: Athens Teen, 18, Killed in Early Morning Shooting

Jordanius Randolph was found dead near a residence on Westchester Circle.

An Athens teen was shot and killed early Friday morning, police say.

Jordanius Randolph, 18, was found lying under some hedges near a residence on Westchester Circle just before 1 a.m., according to Athens-Clarke County Police.

Officers were responding to a report of shots fired in the area when they found the body.

“The victim suffered a gunshot wound and officers rendered aid until EMS arrived. However, the victim succumbed to his wounds,” police spokesperson Hilda Sorrow said in a media release.

Randolph’s body will be sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.

Athens-Clarke PD, Clarke Coroner’s Office and the GBI are investigating.
