Police: Nearly $30K in Cash, Prescription Meds and Jewelry Stolen

ARRESTS

Around 1 a.m. on July 16 officers were on foot patrol in Rolling Ridge Apartments, Rolling Ridge Drive. They saw a number of individuals standing in the breezeway of two buildings. As they approached, several subjects called out to alert the others of the officer’s presence. Multiple subjects then fled on foot. Officers located two in a wooded area and arrested them. Both were extremely hostile and one continuously threatened one of the officers. A warrant check revealed one had outstanding warrants. During this time, another call was received of two subjects who entered an apartment and refused to leave. While one officer stayed with the offenders, the other went to this call. He saw two males leaving the area. A third officer arrived and assisted with these males. They were identified and it was determined one had given a false name and he had an outstanding warrant. He resisted while being handcuffed but he was subdued. Jamar Leach Davis, 22, Meadowlark, Bogart, was charged with Loitering/Prowling and Obstructing/Hindering LEO. Richard Charles Jones, 19, Biscayne Dr, was charged with Terroristic Threats/Acts, Obstructing/Hindering LEO, Loitering/Prowling, and Giving False Information; he was also served with outstanding warrants. George Lebron Houser, 21, Club Drive, was charged with Giving False Information; he was also served with an outstanding warrant.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

A man said while in the living room of his West Broad Street residence around 1:40 a.m. July 16, he heard someone “messing” with the doorknob. He looked out the window and saw a young, light-skinned black male, 5’4”, with short dreadlocks, wearing multi-colored pajama pants and no shirt. The male ran down the stairs toward Camellia Drive.

BURGLARY

Between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. on July 15, a Smokey Road storage trailer was burglarized. Unknown items were stolen.

THEFT BY TAKING

The 74-year old victim reported cash, prescription medication, and jewelry stolen from his Club Drive residence between midnight May 14 and 1 p.m. July 7. The total value was $29,794. A suspect was named.
