Police: Parts from 1950's Vehicles Stolen from Double Nickel Chevy

BATTERY

Around 8 p.m. April 30 an officer responded to a call box activation at the Martin Luther King, Jr., Pkwy, and North Avenue intersection. Contact was made with an Athens man, who said a person he knows by first name only got mad and started throwing things from a trash can at him. The suspect him with a bottle and left. EMS responded and transported him to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment.

An officer responded to an assault that had on occurred on Vine Street. A woman said while walking to her residence she was approached a man. He called her several names and threated to beat her up. She said he grabbed her by the neck and punched her in the face. EMS responded and transported her to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment. The woman believes the incident occurred around Vine Street and Gressom Street. This occurred between 8:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. on April 30.

THEFT BY TAKING

Between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on April 30 unspecified exterior and mechanical parts for 1950’s vehicles were stolen from Double Nickel Chevy, 139 Townes Grocery Road. The total value was listed at $2,000.
