Police Reports: Prowler Arrested, Accident Sends 2 to Hospital

ARREST

Around 12:20 a.m. on July 17 an officer on foot patrol saw two individuals loitering in the breezeway of a building at Rolling Ridge Apartments, 100 Rolling Ridge Drive. As another officer pulled into the complex, one of the individuals fled on foot. The officer pursued but lost sight. Officers continued patrolling the area and a short time later heard movement in the wood line. As an officer approached, a male came out of the woods. It was determined he did not live there and could not give a logical reason for being there. He was arrested and charged with Loitering/Prowling.

ACCIDENT

Alexia Nicole Eady of Atlanta, driving a 2006 Volkswagen Passat, was eastbound on Oak Street around 11:50 a.m. on July 16. Angela Yvette Berry of Oak Hill Drive, driving a 2014 Nissan Sentra, was also east bound. Eady had stopped to turn left into a business at the S Poplar Street intersection and her vehicle was struck in the rear by the Berry vehicle. Berry and a passenger in her vehicle, Rosa Barnes of Freeman Dr, were transported to Athens Regional Medical Center. Berry was also cited for Following Too Closely.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

Officers responded to an alarm at a Lake Street residence of around 2 p.m. on July 16. Upon arrival they found a broken window and a slightly opened door. The residence was cleared and no one was located.

BURGLARY

A cell phone valued at $200 was stolen from a westside residence. The theft occurred between 8:10 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on July 16. A suspect was named.
