Stolen Biscuit Leads to Barring Notice

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

A man was barred from the Golden Pantry at Barnett Shoals after refusing to pay for a biscuit he ate, according to an Athens-Clarke County Police report.

Police responded to Golden Pantry Monday at about 10:30 a.m. after an employee reported that  man had taken and eaten a biscuit without paying for it. The officer reported that the man didn't seem to care about the stolen biscuit and told the officer he could "just take him to jail, but that "he was not paying for the biscuit."

The employee did not press charges. However, the man was barred from the location for two years.
