Suspect Arrested After Robbing Liquor Store

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

Around 11pm on February 28, officers responded to an armed robbery that had just occurred at On the Way Package Store, 1097 Baxter Street.

Employees told police that while they were cleaning the store, a man entered the store. He approached an employee, placed a knife to his neck, and walked him to the register. At knifepoint, the employee removed an unspecified amount of money and got a large scratch on his neck from the knife.

The suspect then left the store and ran toward Evans Street. As officers searched the area, an Evans Street resident told an officer he had seen a man quickly walking down the street. The resident told the officers the man's name, and they found him at a nearby residence and took him into custody.
