Text Message Leads Police to Arrest of Burglary Suspect

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

Officers responded to a burglary in progress at an eastside residence around midnight on March 20.

The complainant said she received a text message from her 20-year old daughter, who said the suspect was inside her residence with her. When the officer arrived, the officer found that someone had lifted up a window screen and a window was partially open.

An officer knocked on the door and a man asked who was there. The officer announced β€œpolice” and someone started to open the door. It was quickly shut and locked.
