Two Arrested on Live Oak Drive in Athens

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest isn't the same thing as a conviction.

Around 10:45am on November 20, Athens Clarke County Police officers responded to a complaint about suspicious persons in the 100 block of Live Oak Drive.

The first officer approached the house on foot and saw two people behind the house carrying objects. The two were detained for investigative purposes. As it turns out, police believe the two people were taking objects from a house on Tallassee Road that was accessible through a wooded area behind the Live Oak house.

The Tallassee house is owned by a Gainesville resident, and it had been burglarized. The owner told police that a riding lawn mower, doorknob set, shoes, handbag, cellphone, and two-cycle oil had been stolen.

These items were recovered behind the Live Oak Dr residence where the suspects were detained.

Amy Michelle Floyd, 33, Lavista Rd, and Tyler Harris Hairston, 35, Settler’s Pass, were arrested and charged with Burglary. Floyd was also charged with Giving False Information because she gave a false name when officers first made contact with her.
