Two Suspects Arrested for Two Home Burglaries

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

An Athens Clarke County Police officer met with a University Drive resident. She told him a person she knows has stolen approximately $3,800 from her over the past two months. Sometime before October 15th, she discovered that approximately $200 and a wallet had been taken from her home. A lookout was issued for the suspect and her vehicle. An officer located her on the eastside and a traffic stop was made on Barnett Shoals Rosd. After police questioned her, they arrested Tamela Karol Crowe, 50, of Brookwood Drive and charged her with felony theft by taking.

Someone burglarized a Double Bridges Road residence between 4:30pm and 5:30pm on October 15 and stole a jar containing approximately $50 to $80. A witness provided a description of someone he saw enter the victim’s house. The officer passed the suspect as he responded to the call. He searched the area for the suspect and reestablished contact with him on Lexington Road just west of Dunlap Rd. A search of his person revealed a large amount of change in his pockets. After questioning, Fredrick O'Neal Ashmore, 26, of Double Bridges Drive, was arrested and charged with burglary.
