Updates: Manhunt for Jamie Hood Continues

Hood, accused of killing an Athens-Clarke police officer, remains at large as police continue searching.

This is a running update of developments in the search for  Jamie Hood, accused of Athens Clarke County Police Officer Buddy Christian on Tuesday.

3:24: The tip about Murrell Road didn't turn out, police said. They continue to check out all tips coming in from citizens, says Mike Shockley. Police are checking out tips that seem legitimate, and there are quite a few of these. If you think you see someone fitting Hood's description, call 911 or 706-613-3345.  And remember: there's $50,000 waiting for you if you are right.

2:32: The FBI and GBI are among the 29 agencies assisting in the search.

1:28: The house being surrounded is on Murrell Road in East Athens.

1:16: Police may be preparing for a stand-off, says a reporter on the scene.

12:18: Police have formed a huge perimeter all the way to Olympic Drive, according to witnesses.

11:46: Police have surrounded a house near Spring Valley Road. Not certain if Hood is inside the house. His parents live in the area.

11:05: More than 20 agencies are assisting in the search for fugitive Jamie Hood, said ACC Police Major Mike Shockley. Snellville Police and Barrow County Sheriff's deputies are among those departments helping out.
