Vacant Residences Draw Intruders and Squatters

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean the same thing as a conviction.

A woman from Nicholson reported to police that someone entered a vacant Bray Street residence belonging to her family between November 2012 and July 20, 2013. A window-mounted air conditioning unit, valued at $200.00, had been removed and taken. Whoever entered the house did so through the window where the air conditioner had been. It appeared that someone had possibly been living inside the vacant residence.

Someone entered a vacant residence on Robert Hardeman Road that belongs to a Watkinsville woman, between July 10 and July 20. The intruder came in through a kicked-in side door. Most of the property inside the residence had already been removed by the owner and nothing was determined to have been stolen.
