A 19-year-old Kennesaw State University student is fighting for her life after a hit-and-run driver struck her as she walked early Sunday morning near Oak Street.

Emily Bowman of Woodstock was walking in the grass alongside Oak Street, between Carr and Oconee streets about 3:05am. A 1997 red Mazda pick up truck traveling eastbound on Oak Street left the roadway, hit her, then fled the scene, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Police located the vehicle a little later, but not the driver, according to a ACC Police report.
