Winterville Man Accused of Raping, Sodomizing Young Relative

Michael Charles Muench, 36, was arrested Monday and charged with raping and sodomizing a young relative in Athens, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald. 

According to the story, the incidents were said to have happened between 2004 and 2005 at a south Athens home, and between 2007 and 2008 at a southeast Athens home, according to the warrants. Though Muench has lived in Athens, he now lives on Beaver Pointe Drive in Winterville, according to the warrants.

The story says the relative was younger than 16 when the assaults happened.

The newspaper story says the alleged victim didn't report the assaults until December. His charges include: two counts each of incest, statutory rape, child molestation, aggravated child molestation and sodomy, and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
