Woman Answers Knock at Front Door, Then Attacked by 3 Others

Athens-Clarke County Police say the incident occurred Tuesday morning.

An Athens woman was injured and sent to the hospital after she said three women knocked on her door, then attacked her.

An Athens-Clarke County Police officer met with the Broad Acres Court resident at Athens Regional Medical Center around 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 29. The woman said around 9 a.m. or 10 a.m., she answered a knock at the front door. When she answered, the women, all believed to be around 20 years old, were standing outside.

She said she knew one of the women as “Asha,” who asked her if she was “Charlene.” When the woman said yes, “Asha” punched her in the face.

Then all three began kicking and hitting her before leaving in a car. The victim was not able to give a description of the vehicle.

“Asha” was described as having “dark complexion, and wearing a blue Kroger T-shirt with orange writing,” according to a police media alert.
