Woman Carrying Gun Allegedly Demands Money From Man

Athens Clarke County Police Officers responded to a call about a disorderly person with a gun at an apartment complex on Sycamore Dr on October 19th at 9:45am. Officers discovered there was a civil dispute between the resident Benny Curry and a woman named Sharon Johnson.

According to the victim, Johnson arrived at Curry’s apartment demanding money and pulled a pistol on Curry. Curry called 911 and officers caught Johnson leaving the residence.

Johnson was in possession of the firearm when detained by officers. Johnson was charged with Armed Robbery attempt, Aggravated Assault, Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
