ACC Pools Open--Except In Memorial Park

ACC nixes the May 28th opening of popular neighborhood pool because of problems.

Don't plan on dipping your toes into the cooling waters of Memorial Park pool anytime soon. Head to one of the county's other pools.

The Memorial Park pool will be closed for repairs for some time, according to a press release from Athens Clarke County Leisure Services. Instead of being open for swimmers and splashers on May 28, it will remain shuttered.

The lining on the pool needs to be repaired, says Cathy Padgett of ACC Leisure Services. The local government is waiting on the company in charge of the lining to honor its warranty and fix the problems.
