Early Voting Brisk in Athens, Ga.

Athens voters appear to be heading toward a record as far as early voting goes. On Monday, 104 people voted in the B's Washington Street office. On Tuesday, that number was 116, said elections supervisor Gail Schrader.

"We expect to surpass that number on Wednesday," she said.

An interesting trend is emerging in Clarke County, a Democratic stronghold: more voters are asking for Republican ballots than Democractic ballots.

Supporters of , who's challenging Republican Doug McKillilp for the 117th House District seat, have asked Democrats to cross over and vote in the Republican primary.

Some voters have asked Elections officials why the Republican ballot differs from the Democratic ballot.

"They think they're voting to change the state Constitution," Schrader said. "I have to tell them that those quesions are just for the political party."
