Runoff Election Day in 113th District Race

Polls close at 7 p.m., vote early!

Runoff election day has arrived, and and are each hoping to garner enough votes to head to the Georgia State Capitol to represent House District 113.

The two were the in the June special election. Williams led the pack with 38.8 percent of the vote; 26.7 percent went to Matthews. Both reset their campaigns and moved forward. They met face to face in a on June 30.

Oconee County Observations
blogger Lee Becker that just over 1,000 voters cast ballots in advance of today's runoff, while less than half of that number voted early in last month's special election. About 11 percent of active voters turned out to the polls in the June 21 election.

Clarke County has five precincts voting in the 113th election. There are 8,851 registered voters in those precincts. In June, 9.11 % of eligible voters cast ballots, officials said.

There are 13 polling places in Oconee County, and registered voters can find out to which precincts they are assigned by either calling the Board of Elections Office at 706-310-3486 or visiting the Georgia Secretary of State's My Voter Page. Polls close at 7 p.m. and live results will be posted on Oconee Patch.

House District 113 includes all of Oconee County and portions of Oglethorpe, Clarke and Morgan counties.
