Time to Vet Proposals for the Route of Development on Prince Avenue

The public can review documents and comment until April 30.

Remember those meetings, charts and discussions over the future of Prince Avenue and Oak/Oconee Street? The Prince Avenue issue is back.

In 2012, the ACC Commission adopted the Prince Avenue Corridor Study. They also adopted a schedule for implementing the study's recommendations. The professional planning staff has worked with a Mayor-appointed group of citizens to create a new zoning designation and to design potential amendments to the zoning ordinance. These would allow for putting compatible commercial uses within or adjacent to established neighborhoods.

Starting yesterday, and continuing until the end of the month (April 15th until April 30th), you can review and comment on those recommendations at the planning department. There are going to be further opportunities for people to talk about and vote on the proposed zoning district and code amendments, including a public meeting, Planning Commission meetings and Mayor and Commission meetings.

You can review the materials and find a comment form by clicking here. Or you can go by the planning department and pick up one there.
