You Can Read it in a Hat! You can Read it With a Rat! in Athens, Ga.

The Athens Clarke County Library invites readers to celebrate Read Across America Day on March 2 with Dr. Seuss books.

 

The Athens-Clarke County Library Children’s Department invites families to celebrate beloved children’s author Theodor Seuss Geisel’s birthday with a special storytime on Saturday, March 2.

Join library staff at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday for Dr. Seuss stories, followed by a special craft as part of the celebration of Read Across America. The National Education Association’s Read Across America seeks to inspire a nation of readers in the spirit of Dr. Seuss’ wacky and fantastical tales.

NEA’s “Read Across America” campaign, an annual reading motivation and awareness program, calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday. In the wise words of Dr. Seuss, “You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child.”
